GIFT GUIDE: for the home

With the holiday season fast upon us, I decided to start a  series to help you with all your gifting, whatever holidays you'll be celebrating!!

This one's full of gifts for the home, so make sure to click the photo and you'll be directed to my Polyvore, which contains direct links for all the items here. My favorite item in this set is definitely the "No. '22 Karat Climax' Cup by Romy Northover. Each cup is wheel thrown using the Japanese method 'Rokuro', individually decorated using slips, and glazed. These cups go through an additional firing for the premium lustre. The lustre is 22 Karat gold."*

DECEMBER MOOD BOARD

FINALLY!!

We're done with the obstacles known as Halloween and Thanksgiving, and are now in December, aka Christmas month!!! I'm not religious, and it's not that I love Christmas because of the presents or anything. It's more about that warm and fuzzy feeling I get when I start seeing string lights adorning all the houses in the neighborhood, and when shops change their display windows out to feature pine trees, gift boxes, and everything else we've come to associate with the holiday.

For December, I'm feelin glitter. And light pink. Slick hair and natural beauty. There's no need to pile on layers of makeup when you're also bundling yourself up with all that outerwear...not that I'm really doing much layering, seeing as I'm in LA where the coldest it gets is the low 50's, but I still stand by my statement.

Now all I need is a boo to have holiday movie marathons and cuddle with while we guzzle hot chocolate. 

DOUBLE DENIM + PROOF

My mom's always been a bit of a coffee obsessor. She recently purchased a Nespresso machine, and since then, has not ceased to ask every hour if she can make me a capp or latte. She's ridiculous.

To take her mind of her new toy (said Nespresso machine), I proposed we try Proof Bakery in Atwater Village, a tiny cafe that I'd tried once before and knew she would love as much as I did.

Due to my nut allergy (yes, that means I can't eat Nutella), I'll never be able to try Proof's famed almond croissant. But that didn't keep me from drooling as my mom delighted in the super flaky pastry. She literally made me film her breaking it apart. That's how impressed she was with its amazingness.

As we rushed home from our mini coffee date so my mom could pick up my little sister from school, I spotted a white VW wagon and demanded that she pull over so I could take pictures with it. I hope you like my awkward posing.

BLACK ONYX

I was recently given the opportunity to create some content for OPI, featuring one of their polishes (aptly) named "Black Onyx." With the theme of Black Friday as my one guideline, I made a trip to the Container Store and grabbed a few shopping bags and a gift box to use as props, then had my usual acrylics painted in Black Onyx. I LOVE how rich the color is, and although I know black isn't the most

festive

, I promise having nails this color will make you feel like a badass. 

I've loved having the opportunity to shoot cool projects like this recently because doing so has not only allowed me to collaborate with some incredible brands, but has also forced me to challenge my creativity.

WISHLIST
